Madā`iḥ Ramaḍāniyyah
Madā'iḥ Ramaḍāniyyah is a Ramaḍān tradition from Tarim, Hadramawt, Yemen. During the nights of Ramaḍān, people gather to recite and sing Ramaḍān themed qasīdahs, poetry of praise that warms the heart and keeps the spirit of the month alive. In Tarim, these gatherings often take place as part of the natural rhythm of the night, after the congregational prayers, in circles of remembrance where voices carry longing, gratitude, forgiveness, and love for the Prophet ﷺ, while welcoming the blessed month and asking Allāh to accept the fasting and worship.
At its core, the word madāiḥ simply means praises. In the Arabic poetic tradition, madīḥ refers to praise poetry, especially devotional praise. Madā'iḥ Ramaḍāniyyah can be understood as “Ramaḍān praises”, recited not as performance, but as devotion. These qasīdahs help people feel Ramaḍān, not just go through it. The verses often speak of welcoming the month, softening the heart, renewing intentions, seeking forgiveness, sending ṣalawāt, and gently stirring the soul toward the Qurʾān, prayer, and better character.
This practice fills the nights of Tarim with remembrance and meaning. It is not entertainment, but an act of worship through poetry, carrying gratitude for Ramaḍān, love for the Prophet ﷺ, and the language of tawbah and longing for closeness to Allāh. Through these gatherings, the community remains awake in heart and purpose, united in remembrance, so that Ramaḍān is not only counted by days, but deeply felt in the chest.

المَدَائِح
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰـهَ إِلَّا اللهُ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ
نَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّار
(3x)
I bear witness that there is no god except Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah.
We ask You for Paradise and we seek refuge in You from the Fire. (x3)
(3x) اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنَّا
يَا كَرِيـمُ
O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness. So forgive us. O Generous One.
يُبَشِّرُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنْهُ وَرِضْوَانٍ وَجَنَّاتٍ لَّهُمْ فِيْهَا نَعِيْمٌ مُّقِيْمٌ. خَالِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا أَبَدًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيْمٌ
Their Lord gives them good tidings of mercy from Him and approval and of gardens for them wherein is enduring pleasure. [They will be] abiding therein forever. Indeed, Allah has with Him a great reward. [9:21-22]
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَتَهُۥ یُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِیِّۚ
یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَیهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسلِیمًا
Indeed, Allāh confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allāh to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allāh to grant him] peace. [33:56]
اللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّى وَسَلِّمْ عَلَيْه
صَلَّى اللهُ وَسَلَّمْ عَلَيْه
O Allah, bestow blessings and grant peace upon him.
الوِتْرِيَّة
بَدَأْتُ بِذِكْرِ اللهِ مَدْحًا مُقَدَّمًا
وَأُثْنِىْ بِحَمْدِ اللهِ شُكْرًا مُعَظَّمًا
وَأُخْتِمُ قَوْلِيْ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَإِنَّمَا
I commenced with Allah's name in praise,
And with gratitude, I raise my voice to Allah, in thanks profound,
And with prayer, my words are bound.
أُصَّلِيْ صَلَاةً تَمْلَأُ الْاَرْضَ وَالسَّمَا
عَلَى مَنْ لَهُ أَعْلَى الْعُلَا مُتَبَوَّأُ
I offer a prayer that fills the earth and sky,
For the One whose highest status none can deny.
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَاَزْكَى تَحِيَتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
نَبِيٌّ لَهُ فِيْ حَضْرَةِ الْقُدْسِ مَنْزِلُ
وَحُجَّابُهُ الْأَمْلَاكُ وَهُوَ مُبَجَّلُ
أَتَى آخِرًا فِي بَعْثِهِ وَهُوَ أَوَّلُ
A prophet whose abode is in the sanctity of Al-Quds.
His veil is the angels, and he is revered.
He came last in his mission, yet he was first in inception.
أُقِيْمَ مَقَامًا لَمْ يَقُمْ فِيْهِ مُرْسَلُ
وَأَمْسَتْ لَهُ حُجْبُ الْجَلَالِ تُوَطَّأُ
Established is a station where no messenger stood before,
And the veils of majesty lifted for him.
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَاَزْكَى تَحِيَتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
۞۞۞
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَاَزْكَى تَحِيَتِيْ
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ يَا هُو
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation, O He!
تَرَقَّى جَمِيْعَ الْحُجْبِ وَاخْتَرَقَ السَّنَا
(صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه)
وَصَلَّى بِأَمْلَاكِ السَّمَوَاتِ مُعْلِنَا
(يَا هُو)
He transcended all veils and pierced through the heights.
And he prayed with the hosts of heavens declaring.
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَاَزْكَى تَحِيَتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ يَا هُو
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation, O He!
وَسَارَ إِلَى حُجْبِ الْجَلَالِ وَمَا وَنَى
إِلَى الْعَرْشِ وَالْكُرْسِيِّ أَحْمَدُ قَدْ دَنَا (يَا هُو)
He journeyed to the veil of majesty without hesitation,
Towards the Throne and the Chair, Ahmad, indeed, has drawn near.
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَاَزْكَى تَحِيَتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ يَا هُو
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation, O He!
إِلَى الْعَرْشِ وَالْكُرْسِيِّ أَحْمَدُ قَدْ دَنَا
وَنُوْرُهُمَا مِنْ نُوْرِهِ يَتَلَأْلَأُ (يَا هُو)
Towards the Throne and the Chair, Ahmad, indeed, has drawn near.
And their light shines from his light, sparkling.
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَاَزْكَى تَحِيَتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ يَا هُو
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation, O He!
۞۞۞
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَأَزْكَى تَحِيَّتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
فَقَرَّبَهُ الرَّحْمَنُ قُرْبَ عِنَايَةٍ
وَخَاطَبَهُ حَقًّا بِغَيْرِ رِوَايَةٍ
So the Most Merciful drew him close with proximity of care,
And addressed him truly, without intermediaries.
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَأَزْكَى تَحِيَّتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
فَلمَّا تَوَلَّاهُ بِحُسْنِ وِلَايَةٍ
أَرَاهُ مِنَ الآيَاتِ أَكْبَرَ آيَةٍ
So when the Most Gracious took him under His benevolent care,
He became the greatest sign among all signs.
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَأَزْكَى تَحِيَّتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
أَرَاهُ مِنَ الآيَاتِ أَكْبَرَ آيَةٍ
فَمَا زَاغَ حَاشَا أَنْ يَزِيغَ الْمُبَرَّأُ
He made him the greatest of His signs.
And he never deviates, far be it from him to deviate.
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَأَزْكَى تَحِيَّتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
۞۞۞
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَاَزْكَى تَحِيَتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
يَا رَسُولُ اللهِ الْمَدَاد
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
O Messenger of God, aid us!
بِهِ قَدْ رَقَى جِبْرِيلُ فِي ذَرْوَةِ الشَّرَفْ
وَزَجَّ بِهِ فِي النُّورِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا وَقَفْ
يَا رَسُولُ اللهِ الْمَدَاد
By him, Gabriel ascended to the peak of honor.
And through him, bathed in light after he had taken his stand.
O Messenger of God, aid us!
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَاَزْكَى تَحِيَتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
يَا رَسُولُ اللهِ الْمَدَاد
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
O Messenger of God, aid us!
وَلَمَّا سَرَى فِي بَحْرِ عِزٍّ بِلَا طَرَفْ
أَتَاهُ النِّدَاء : يَا سَيِّدَ الرُّسْلِ لَا تَخَفْ
يَا رَسُولُ اللهِ الْمَدَاد
And when he sailed in the sea of glory, boundless,
The call came to him: 'O leader of the messengers, fear not.
O Messenger of God, aid us!
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَاَزْكَى تَحِيَتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
يَا رَسُولُ اللهِ الْمَدَاد
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
O Messenger of God, aid us!
أَنَا مُذْنِبٌ أَصْبَحْتُ بِالذَّنْبِ مَيِّتًا
وَلِي عَمَلٌ فِي اللَّوْحٍ قَدْ صَارَ مُثْبَـتًا
يَا رَسُولُ اللهِ الْمَدَاد
I am a sinner, laden with sins, as if dead because of them,
Yet deeds inscribed on the Preserved Tablet awaits.
O Messenger of God, aid us!
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَاَزْكَى تَحِيَتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
يَا رَسُولُ اللهِ الْمَدَاد
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
O Messenger of God, aid us!
دَعَوْتُكَ مُضْطَرًّا بِطَهَ وَهَلْ أَتَى
أَغِثْنِي أَجِرْنِي ضَاعَ عُمْرِي إِلَى مَتَى
يَا رَسُولُ اللهِ الْمَدَاد
I call upon You, O Helper, has the time drawn near?
Rescue me, save me, my life's wasted, how long will it last?
O Messenger of God, aid us!
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَاَزْكَى تَحِيَتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
يَا رَسُولُ اللهِ الْمَدَاد
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
O Messenger of God, aid us!
أَغِثْنِي أَجِرْنِي ضَاعَ عُمْرِي إِلَى مَتَى
بِأَثْقَالِ أَوْزَارِي أَرَانِيَ أُرَزَّأُ
يَا رَسُولُ اللهِ الْمَدَاد
Rescue me, save me, my life's wasted, how long will it last?
Under the weight of my sins, I see myself crumbling.
O Messenger of God, aid us!
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَاَزْكَى تَحِيَتِي
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
يَا رَسُولُ اللهِ الْمَدَاد
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
O Messenger of God, aid us!
۞۞۞
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَأَزْكَى تَحِيَّتِي
يَا رَسُولَ الله
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
يَا رَسُولَ الله
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
نَبِـيُّ الْهُدَى لَا تَنْسَنِـى مِنْ شَفَاعَةٍ
فَـإِنِّـى مُسِـيءٌ مُذْنِبٌ ذُو جَـرَائِـرِ
O Prophet of guidance, do not forget me in your intercession,
For I am a wrongdoer, a sinner with many ill deeds.
أَلَا يَا رَسُـولَ اللهِ عَطْفًا وَرَحْمَةً
لِمُسْتَـرْحِمٍ مُسْتَنْظِرٍ لِلْمَبَارِرِ
Won't you, O Messenger of Allah, show compassion and mercy,
To a seeker awaiting relief, longing for deliverance?
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَأَزْكَى تَحِيَّتِي
يَا رَسُولَ الله
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
يَا رَسُولَ الله
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
أَلَا يَا حَبِيبَ الله غَوْثًا وَغَارَةً
لِذِي كُرْبَةٍ مَسْوَدَّةٍ كَالدَّيَاجِرِ
Won't you, O beloved of Allah, be a source of help and refuge?
To one in tribulation and covered in darkness.
أَلَا يَا خَلِيلَ اللهِ نَجْدَةَ مَاجِدٍ
كَرِيمِ السَّجَايَا كَاشِفٍ لِلْمَعَاسِرِ
Won't you, O friend of Allah, grant the aid of the noble one,
You who possesses noble traits, and removes all difficulties.
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَأَزْكَى تَحِيَّتِي
يَا رَسُولَ الله
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
يَا رَسُولَ الله
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
أَلَا يَا أَمِينَ اللهِ أَمْنًا لِخَائِفٍ
أَتَى هَارِبًا مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ الْمُتَكَاثِرِ
Are you not, O trustee of Allah, a refuge for the fearful one
Who has come fleeing from his accumulating sins.
أَلَا يَا صَفِـيَّ اللهِ قُمْ بِى فَإِنَّنِى
بِكُمْ وَإِلَيْكُمْ يَاشَرِيفَ الْعَنَاصِرِ
Will you not, O Elect of Allah, take care of me, for indeed
I am with you and turning towards you, O Possessor of the most noble traits
صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَأَزْكَى تَحِيَتِي
يَا رَسُولَ الله
عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ
يَا رَسُولَ الله
Prayer and peace, and purest salutation.
Upon the Chosen, the Selected, the Best of Creation.
۞۞۞
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله (يَا هُو)
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله بِهَا يَنْشَرِه صَدْرِي
There is no god but Allah, there is no god but Allah (O He!),
There is no god but Allah, by it my heart is expanded.
أَحِبَّتُنَا طِبْتُمْ وَطَابَ حَدِيثُكُمْ (يَا هُو)
فَلاَ عِوَضٌ عَنْهُ وَلاَ الصَّبْرُ يَطْرَأُ
Our beloved one, you are pure, and your words are sweet (O He!),
There is no replacement for him, nor can patience suffice.
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله (يَا هُو)
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله بِهَا يَنْشَرِه صَدْرِي
There is no god but Allah, there is no god but Allah (O He!),
There is no god but Allah, by it my heart is expanded.
أَأَصْبِرُ لاَ وَاللهِ زَادَ تَشَوُّقِي (يَا هُو)
إِلَى مَنْ لَهُ وَجْهٌ مِنَ الشَّمْسِ أَضْوَأُ
Shall I be patient? No, by Allah, my longing has only increased (O He!),
Towards the One whose face shines brighter than the sun.
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله (يَا هُو)
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله بِهَا يَنْشَرِه صَدْرِي
There is no god but Allah, there is no god but Allah (O He!),
There is no god but Allah, by it my heart is expanded.
أَلِفْنَاهُ حَتَّى خَامَرَتْهُ عُقُولُنَا (يَا هُو)
فَلاَ الشَّوْقُ مَفْقُودٌ وَلاَ الْوَجْدُ يَهْدَأُ
We have embraced him until our minds were overwhelmed (O He!),
Neither longing is diminished, nor does passion find rest.
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله (يَا هُو)
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله بِهَا يَنْشَرِه صَدْرِي
There is no god but Allah, there is no god but Allah (O He!),
There is no god but Allah, by it my heart is expanded.
۞۞۞
الفَزَّازِيَّة
اللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّى وَسَلِّمْ عَلَيْه
صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه
O Allah, bestow blessings and peace upon him;
May Allah's blessings be upon him.
يَا مَنْ عُلَاهُ أَرْضُهَا الْجَوْزَاءُ
(صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه)
وَلَهَا عَلَى عَرْشِ الْكَمَالِ سَمَاءُ
(صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه)
يَا مَنْ مَدَاهُ لَمْ يَصِلْهُ ذَكَاءُ
(صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه)
O He, whose greatness extends beyond measure,
Whose perfection's throne reaches skies, treasure,
O He, whose depths intelligence can't grasp, full of grace.
اللهُ أَكْبَرُ أُفْحِمَ الْفُصَحَاءُ
وَتَحَيَّرَتْ فِي وَصْفِكَ الشُّعَرَاءُ
"Allah is the Greatest," it shames eloquence's might,
And poets are confounded by describing Your light.
اللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّى وَسَلِّمْ عَلَيْه
صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه
O Allah, bestow blessings and peace upon him;
May Allah's blessings be upon him.
مَنْ كَانَ لَيْسَ لِمَا حَوَاهُ نِهَايَةٌ
(صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه)
وَلَهَ الْكِتَابُ عَلَى النُّبُوَّةِ آيَةٌ
(صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه)
مَا عَرَّفَتْهُ رِوَايَةٌ وَدِرَايَةٌ
(صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه)
For whom there is no end to His encompassing,
And the Book is His evidence for prophethood, a sign.
He is not known by narration or knowledge.
اللهُ أَكْبَرُ مَا لِمَجْدِكَ غَايَةٌ
أَبَدًا فَيُدْرِكُ طَوْرَهَا الْقُرَنَاءُ
"Allah is the Greatest," Your glory has no end,
Forever, Your greatness is beyond comprehension.
اللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّى وَسَلِّمْ عَلَيْه
صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه
O Allah, bestow blessings and peace upon him;
May Allah's blessings be upon him.
يَا مَنْ جَمِيعُ الْكَوْنِ فِيهِ تَسَطَّرَا
(صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه)
وَبِضَوْئِهِ ضَوْءُ الْوُجُودِ تَسَتَّرَا
(صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه)
يَا مَظْهَرَ الذَّاتِ الَّذِي وَسِعَ الْوَرَى
(صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه)
O He in whom the entirety of existence is inscribed,
And with His light, the light of existence is veiled,
O Manifestation of the Essence that encompasses all.
أَمُحَمَّدٌ يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ وَطِئَ الثَّرَى
وَسَرَتْ بِهِ الشَّمْلُولَةُ الْعَضْبَاءُ
Is Muhammad not the best of those who walked the earth?
And with him, the lost finds its way.
اللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَيْه
صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْه

O Allah, bestow blessings and peace upon him;
may Allah's blessings be upon him.
۞۞۞
اللّٰهُ اَعْلَمْ
صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّد
صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم
۞۞۞
القَوَافِي
تَبَارَكَ ذُو الْعُلَا وَالْكِبْرِيَاءِ
تَفَرَّدَ بِالْجَلَالِ وَبِالْبَقَاءِ
وَسَاوَى الْمَوْتُ بَيْنَ الْخَلْقِ
طُرًّا فَكُلُّهُمُ رَهَائِنُ لِلْفَنَاءِ
Blessed is the One of Exaltation and Majesty,
Alone in Glory and Everlastingness.
Death has equalized all among creation;
Each is a captive to annihilation.
وَدُنْيَانَا وَإِنْ مِلْنَا إِلَيْهَا
وَطَالَ بِهَا الْمَتَاعُ إِلَى انقِضَاءِ
أَلَا إِنَّ الرُّكُونَ عَلَى غُرُورِ
إِلَى دَارِ الْفَنَاءِ مِنَ الْعَنَاءِ
And our worldly life, though we incline toward it,
And its pleasures may seem to endure until their end,
Know that reliance upon its deception,
Leads to the abode of ruin and hardship.
وَقَاطِنُهَا سَرِيعُ الظَّعْنِ عَنْهَا
وَإِنْ كَانَ الْحَرِيصُ عَلَى الثَّوَاءِ
يُحَوَّلُ عَنْ قَرِيبٍ مِنْ قُصُورٍ
مُزَخْرَفَةٍ إِلَى بَيْتِ التُّرَابِ
Its inhabitant is swift in departing from it,
Even if he is eager to remain.
He is soon transferred from decorated palaces,
To a house of dust.
تَبَارَكَ ذُو الْعُلَا وَالْكِبْرِيَاءِ
تَفَرَّدَ بِالْجَلَالِ وَبِالْبَقَاءِ
Blessed is the One of Exaltation and Majesty,
Alone in Glory and Everlastingness.

دُعَاء شَهْرِ رَمَضَان الْمُعَظَّم
Doa for the Blessed Month of Ramadan
يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ دُفِنَتْ فِي التُّرْبِ أَعْظُمُهُ
فَطَابَ مِنْ طِيْبِهِنَّ الْقَاعُ وَالْأَكَمُ
O best of those buried in the earth, your grandeur is unparalleled,
With your fragrance, both the depths and the heights are blessed.
نَفْسِيْ فِدَاءٌ لِقَبْرٍ أَنْتَ سَاكِنُهُ
فِيْهِ الْعَفَافُ وَفِيْهِ الْجُوْدُ وَالْكَرَمُ
My soul is devoted to your resting place,
In it lies purity, generosity, and nobility's grace.
لَوْلاَكَ مَا خُلِقَتْ شَمْسٌ وَلَا قَمَرٌ
وَلَا سَمَاءٌ وَلَا لَوْحٌ وَلَا قَلَمٌ
Without you, neither sun nor moon would rise,
Nor skies, tablets, nor pens would suffice.
أَنْتَ الْحَبِيْبُ الَّذِيْ تُرْجَى شَفَاعَتُهُ
عِنْدَ الصِّرَاطَ إِذَا مَا زَلَّتِ الْقَدَمُ
You are the beloved, whose intercession is sought,
At the bridge, when the feet falter in the daunting crossing.
فَكُنْ شَفِيْعِيْ إِذَا مَا ثُرْتُ مِنْ جَدَثِيْ
لِأَنَّنِيْ ضَيْفُكُمْ وَالضَّيْفُ مُحْتَرَمُ
Be my intercessor when I am buried in my grave,
For I am your guest, and the guest is honoured.
وَالْآلَ وَالصَّحْبَ لَا نَنْسَاهُمَا أَبَدًا
مِنَّا التَّرَضِّيْ عَلَيْهِمْ مَا جَرَى قَلَمُ
And the family and companions, we never forget them,
From us is the acceptance (Redha) of whatever the pen inscribes.

فَطَابَ مِنْ طِيْبِهِنَّ الْقَاعُ وَالْأَكَمُ
