Khuluquna
Our Character
There is a question that sounds simple, but is never easy to answer.
Who are you?
We often answer through the things that surround us, our name, work, qualifications, appearance, achievements, or the image people have of us. These may describe parts of our life, but they do not fully reveal who we are.
In the end, we are not remembered by everything we claimed to be, but by the character people experienced from us.
Khuluquna, Our Character, is a monthly session that invites us to look at character beyond manners and outward behaviour. Based on the book Khuluquna by Al-Habib Omar bin Hafiz, this journey explores the inner qualities that shape the kind of servant we are becoming, beginning with our relationship with Allah, then with people, and finally with our own selves.
This is not merely a class about manners. It is a class about ourselves, our hearts, and the kind of servants we are becoming.
The session is divided into three main parts:
Part 1: Character with Allah
Part 2: Character with People
Part 3: Character with Ourselves
Each part will be covered over one month, across four weekly sessions.
We begin with Part 1: Character with Allah.
Before character appears in our words, relationships, and conduct with others, it begins with how the heart stands before Allah. This first part brings us back to the foundation of all character, the adab of being a servant before the One who sees what is outward and what is hidden.
