with Revamp
Behind every qurban is obedience, and a hope for acceptance, forgiveness, and closeness to Allah.
Through it, we hope to play our small part in feeding those in need, seek Allah’s forgiveness and acceptance, and continue supporting the community, educational, and youth efforts carried out by Revamp throughout the year.
For many of us who are unable to be among the pilgrims of Hajj this year, qurban becomes our humble share in these sacred days, hoping that Allah looks upon us with mercy, forgiveness, and acceptance.

Yes. Qurban is a sunnah muakkadah for those who are able. If Allah has blessed a person with the means, it is encouraged to perform qurban regularly.
It is permissible for parents or guardians to perform qurban on behalf of their children. However, it is not an obligation upon the child, especially if the child has not yet reached maturity.
It is more advisable to perform the qurban under one’s own name and gift the reward, pahala, by intention to deceased loved ones. As for performing qurban specifically on behalf of the deceased, this is generally done when there was a will or request made by the deceased before passing away. Allah knows best.
Qurban is an ibadah performed during the days of Zulhijjah by those who are able, and it comes with its own rulings and intentions. Sadaqah may be done at any time throughout the year and is broader in nature. Aqiqah is a separate sunnah performed as a form of gratitude upon the birth of a child.
It is sunnah to perform aqiqah on the 7th day after the birth of the child. However, if it is delayed, it may still be performed later. If the child reaches maturity before the aqiqah is performed, it is encouraged for the child to perform it personally if he or she wishes to do so.
It is encouraged for those intending to perform qurban to refrain from cutting their hair and nails upon the entering of the first ten days of Zulhijjah until their qurban has been carried out. This is based on the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ: “When the ten days begin and one of you intends to offer a sacrifice, let him not remove anything from his hair or nails.” Narrated by Muslim. Allah knows best.
